I am asked by parents what they can do to improve kids’ emotional health. They’re surprised when I mention play. Oh I recommend a parenting course for the parents. Other times I propose spending more time with the children… and, occasionally, I will suggest encouraging uniqueness or cultivating a spirit of independence in a specific child. At home, I might suggest construction for children with ADHD or in the classroom.
